Chances are, if you’re reading this post, or have read other posts on this blog, that you love books, specifically, fantasy & sci-fi books. Naturally, my blog isn’t the only book blog out there; many people love books and writing about books. And other book blogs exist that talk specifically about fantasy and sci-fi books.
So, I’ve compiled a list with some of my favorite fantasy & sci-fi book blogs, so go ahead and give them some love!
Fantasy & Sci-fi Bookblogs
This is one of the first fantasy blogs I’ve ever come across. It’s managed by a group of people and is filled with tons of reviews. But not just that, you can also find interviews here with some of your favorite fantasy writers, such as Mark Lawrence, Joe Abercrombie, & S. A. Chakraborty. They also reviewed as part of the Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (SPFBO), which is hosted each year by Mark Lawrence. This includes reviews of the best self-published fantasy & sci-fi works! I found this inspirational, which is one of the reasons I also try and balance reviews between traditionally and self-published novels.
It’s a website quite similar to the Fantasy Hive in its setup. There are fantastic reviews of new fantasy & sci-fi books, but also reviews of games, next to author interviews and cover reveals. They also have a writing section with some writing advice. But perhaps the most fun: they have a forum! There, you can geek out with your fellow fantasy & sci-fi book lovers.
It’s a pretty cool website, which kinda reminds me of GoodReads, but then specifically for SFF books. Like on GoodReads, you can build your virtual bookshelf to mark the books that you have read, want to read, which you own, and give ratings. It’s also possible to get personal recommendations, write reviews, and chat with others on the forum. Sounds pretty cool, no?
It’s a beautiful website by Jamie. She doesn’t just talk about books, but also about her life as a mom, personal development, and her small adventures. She has a lovely personal style in her blogs that is genuine and engaging.
Dianthaa has a unique and engaging writing style, and you can find more here than your typical book reviews. She also participates in fantasy bingo challenges, book tags, and writes mini-reviews as well. Add to that her love of cosplay with amazing costumes, ranging from Mistborn to Frozen and Naruto, and some great cat-pictures, and what more do you want?
Next to book reviews, there’s book hauls, currently reading, and more SPFBO content! Jason is a man who loves SFF books, once entertained the idea of pursuing a Ph.D., and now works as an admin. Follow this blog for some great recommendations and reviews with a personal style, all dedicated to conquering that To Be Read pile.
This blog probably has the prettiest cover image I’ve ever seen. Like, seriously beautiful. Nicole is many things, which is probably why I relate to her. She’s also a writer, freelance editor, and gamer. Her blog has a very personal feel, which I love, and you can find what stories she’s working on, her short stories, and her editorial service as well as her reviews of books, movies, and video games, personal musings, other bookish stuff, and discussion posts. Her blog is a true inspiration to me.
I’m well aware that there are many other Fantasy dedicated book blogs out there, but you can only follow so many at a time, right? Anyways, these 7 are the ones I look on most when I’m looking for new books to read, or simply for some fun posts or inspiration for my blog.
Do you have other book blogs you love to read? Or are any of the ones I listed your favorite as well? Let me know in the comments!
