    Indie book series

I’m often dissapointed when I’m completely in love with the characters and world of a story, and then there’s just the one book. You won’t have that issue if that book is part of a series! You can continue the journey with your favorite characters and marvel as you gain even more insight into the world created.

So get ready for some suggestions!

Clan of the Skyriders – Florence Phillips

    Cover Clan of the Skyriders

A romance story set in a post-apocalyptic world, where humans have gone back to the hunter and gatherer life-style. The Clan is a community of highly efficient people, who have each member specifically ‘bred’ for the traits needed to perform a certain occupation. Efalaa isn’t very happy about it, while Morgunn is a firm believer. When disaster strikes, new opportunities arise as well. Can they overcome their differences as they strive to rebuild their community, and have the love they deserve?

You can read a full review (no spoilers) of this book right here!

    The Burns Fire – N. M. Thorn

    The Burns Fire Cover

A detective in an Urban Fantasy setting, The Burns Fire is the first book of the series of which already four books exist, and I believe a fifth one is already on it’s way.

Zane Burns works for the FBI in a secret paranormal division. He has to deal with a multiple homicide investigation, which appears to involve villains with supernatural powers of their own. Zane has to push himself and his abilities if he wants to solve the case and survive it.

Daughter of a Captive God – Grace Martin

Daughter of a captive God Cover

Katie finds her father missing, and likely been taken to a different world. In this thriller, Katie has to confront ghosts, the undead and her mortality. Her long-lost brother also decides to come back, just to let her know she’s been marked by the Goddess of Death. Will she succeed in finding her father without losing her life?

Daughter of a Captive God is the first book of a new portal fantasy series. I haven’t read it, but the description says it can also be read as a stand-alone; no cliff-hangers. That way, you can decide for yourself if you want to continue the series or not.

    Nav’Aria: The Marked Heir – K. J. Backer

    The Marked Heir cover

Rav’Arians are raging war against the Marked Royals. Unicorn, Centaur, Nymph and Man must stand together, but can they? Amidst it all, Darion has many questions, mostly about his own identity. He’s haunted by visions of mythical beasts, and a captive with her torturer, and can’t figure out why his birthmark is suddenly glowing. What will it cost him to find out the truth? And will his return to Nav’Aria help or hinder the fight?

The Marked Heir is the first in the Nav’Aria series, with the second one also already out. A compelling tale, promising lot’s of action and a protagonist in search of himself. What’s not to love?

Forget you not – Kristie Cook

    Forget you not cover

A Paranormal Romance series with already quite some books, and also by different authors. This first one is about Kaela Peters, who nearly killed her fiancé. Why? Because she’s a vampire and couldn’t control her urges. She hoped that once she gained control she could get her fiancé back, but he moved on – with her best friend. She runs away in the Colorado mountains, but doesn’t know that she’s actually running into her true past and memories long forgotten.
